Super-20s Post First Win
Parsons, Kocher Tally

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (June 23, 2008)--Goals from Kaitlin Parsons and Jamie Kocher powered the West Virginia Illusion Super-20 team (1-3-0) to their first-ever win Monday afternoon as they defeated the Northern Virginia Majestics (1-3-0) by a final score of 2-1 at East-West Field.

Shortly after the Majestics had a goal disallowed early due to an offsides call, Parsons scored on a chip shot in the 26th minute from about 30 yards out after receiving a pass from Lauren Thomas.

Northern Virginia tied the match in the 63rd minute when Anne Keyes finished off a rebound.

But the Illusion got last licks; Melissa Speros got behind the defense and fired from just outside the 18-yard box. After an initial save, Kocher picked up the rebound, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and finished into the empty net for her second goal of the season.

The win came in West Virginia's first home game of the season and in their third game in as many days. The Illusion dropped two games on neutral ground in Fredericksburg, Virginia over the weekend.
